¬¬ SUCCINCT PROPOSAL EXPLORING THEORY & PRACTICE STRATEGIES
April 17, 2011 | Author: maritess samuelle sanchez FOREWORD: The Group A of Harmabee Newsletter hereby propose a plan to help design and organize a project, allow the the main points of this proposal, help the group to acknowledge and foresee potential problems and solve them at the planning state, permits consultation with other researchers/clinicians before the study and therapeutic social club activities are carried out, and the best way to prevent mistakes occurring while carrying out the project. We seek the approval of the university research committees, the board members of Regents, sponsors/donors, ethics committees and other bodies giving approval. This proposed project will benefit Immigrant Families and to help the communities and new arrivals to deal with their past trauma and oppressions from the lands of their origin. Our goal is to work on healing and to work on a “holistic wrap-around psychological approach” healing programs. Healing will extend from the individual, the group, families and communities. Members of group therapies will work “cohesively and supportively” in a social –club setting during, upon completion of healing programs and until graduation. The social club programs will include a social club and its social activities such as arts and crafts, a writing class, a cooking class, horticulture class and gym activities. Therapeutic activities will add hope to immigrant families, will add a healthy disposition and will benefit the face of our nation. On my behalf, I have enclosed a letter of commendation from Justin Almeida. Human Resource Manager of AFCDC of the Nevada Regional Office for Refugee Resettlement. I have worked with Justin Almeida in the fall of 2010 with more than one hundred hours of service to the refugee communities specifically the Bhutanese community as the collection and distribution of new/used household goods, medical transports of patients to doctors appointments, and assisting ESL teachers in the Burnham sector of the Catholic Charities organization in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I believe that Maritess is a very passionate and caring person, and this makes her an invaluable resource for the communities she assists. One area of improvement I have seen, and that I would like to see her continue to work on, would be for her to keep building a professional demeanor to compliment her strengths. I believe this would make her work even more effective, and allow her to follow a career in social work or community organizing.” -Justin Almeida Justin Almeida Resource Developer ECDC African Community Center 4310 South Cameron St., Suite 11 Las Vegas, NV 89103 (702) 836-3324 http://www.acclv.org/
CONCLUSION: Unlike the focus of most traditional groups to help and work their participants to release trauma and distresses, our model with a social club fitness flavors will open to address all “the stressors” of the survivors current and previous lives. Aside applying direct intervention, our immigrant families will develop problem – solving skills, self-image, enhanced social/emotional well-being (Kira et al, in press). Hi everyone; I am an undergrad student working a bachelor degree Social Work/Leadership & Civic Engagement minor. Humanitarian, gourmet cook, song/dance & loves fishing & mornings. As many times over that I can encourage and help the down-trodden, is one opportunity . music/ theater enthusiast, puppetry/ change/community make-overs, Broadway hits. The big ocean as a backdrop for some Spanish dishes, roasted corn on d cob/oysters, scallop/yellow-fin, Mahi2 halibut, Tapena Red, a Flaminco dancer on a fair-weathered moonlit night w/ friends - is my kind of heaven on earth. Again, my passion is established to teach/help the displaced, and the God that kept the geo-corona on planet Earth through time-immemorial.
